Are You Getting In Your Own Way Because of This?
June 23rd, 2010

There’s no doubt that the work healers and coaches do transforms lives. So why are so many of them caught in what seems like a hamster-wheel situation – working hard but not really moving ahead, financially or spiritually?
This unhappy situation certainly isn’t due to lack of passion or creativity. The culprit is almost always those twin demons: self doubt and perfectionism. Because you ARE so passionate about helping your clients, you worry whether you’re good enough or offering enough. And that keeps you stuck in the “creation and development” phase far too long.
Attracting more clients and more money into your business isn’t a matter of working harder or waiting until “it’s all perfect.” It’s got everything to do with knowing the RIGHT actions to take to clarify who and how you serve.
The first step is a mindset piece. It’s knowing that all is well, always, and the Universe has your back. (I know you already believe that – now you just need to consistently make decisions from that place.)
When you really embrace this attitude, right away you see that it’s not possible for you to be anything less than perfect, right now, just as you are. There’s no such thing as mistakes; only opportunities for learning.
Then comes the fun stuff. You get to take your passion and creativity and turn them into client-transforming programs, products and services.
To help you with the “how to” nuts and bolts, here’s a simple checklist of what you need to do to generate clients and cash flow. . .quickly, easily and elegantly:
Set Yourself Apart With an Instantly Recognizable, Magnetic Brand
For service-based, solo business owners, where what you’re selling is YOU, your brand is the most important marketing element of all. Yet most people have no idea of the money-making power behind a magnetic brand.
Your brand is the personification of your business solution, and can mean the difference between a trickle of inquiries and a quick rush of new clients. A congruent, harmonious brand gives you a strong sense of identity, meaning and alignment with your passionate purpose – which is super-appealing to clients.

Offer a Clearly Defined Solution to an Immediate Problem
The strength of your offer depends on your audience understanding what you help them solve or accomplish. It doesn’t serve you, nor allow you to serve your clients, to get caught up in the “Well, I can do this, I can do that, I can do the other,” because then you either don’t choose or you try to cover too much.
If you think it’s too controversial to claim a specialty, remember the power of being seen as an expert. Masters in any field are more in demand, and command higher fees.
Get Your Rear in Gear
Things tend to take as long as we decide they’re going to. I was coaching a client last week on setting a bold money success goal. She set a 30-day timeframe I knew was far below her capabilities (and her desire). Recognizing that her response came from a place of fear and doubt, and holding her as much more powerful than that, I challenged her to create that amount in 72 hours. She called me the next day to say she’d already done it!
If your goal is serving clients and attracting income now, spending 8 weeks creating your brand or 3 months developing your next program won’t get the results you’re after. Take action on what you know at this moment. You can always refine it later.
6 Figures Can Happen Much Faster Than You May Realize
If you’re serious about growing a business that serves others, fulfills your purpose, and brings you the freedom and lifestyle you long for, you’ve got to find a way to get past the worry and step into your power as the leader of your business (and your community of clients).
Acknowledge any fear or doubt as proof of your unwavering commitment to giving your best to your clients. Then toss the fear and doubt aside and forge ahead!

Nice article Helen. I am also liking the less whimsical template. Excited to see what is coming.
